The Coghinas river

The Coghinas River is the longest water stream of the north Sardinia that flows into the Tyrrhenian Sea in the town of Valledoria, defining the borders between the districts of Sassari, Olbia and Tempio. The river crosses the area that was originally owned by the Doria Family that had a permanent influence on great part of the area. Throughout the stream, from the initial artificial lake created by the water shutting near the Town of Tula until the characteristic lake outpourings in Valledoria area, it is possible to admire beautiful natural landscapes. However the Coghinas River owns its popularity to another aspect well known since ancient time. Close to Casteldoria, indeed, beneficial thermal springs feed the river.
A thermal Spa was constructed here a long time ago, but its opening will take place just in 2008.

The project

The Thermal Bath of Casteldoria’s project was originally designed with the idea of turning the unused Thermal Spa into an excellent Spa site, a potential focal point for the north Sardinia. After 20 long years of bureaucracy, local authorities have finally given the approval to the re-opening and re-qualification of the tourist area. It is in this context that takes place the project of Thermal Bath of Casteldoria. It is a residential complex divided into 2 different residences called the “Girasole” (Sunflower) and the “Giardini di Cogas” (Cogas’ Gardens). In both residences will be constructed a good number of buildings of one and two bedroom flats.
Moreover, some of the buildings will be turned into offices and for business purposes. To add more value at the property, every residence will have a private swimming pool as well as access to a wide park located in between the two residences.

For those reasons the project of Thermal Bath of Casteldoria can be considered as an alternative holiday compared to the standard holiday option of simply having a beach house. This offer is indeed different and a new proposal on the market!

The constructionsite

The placement of the very first stone of the Terme di Casteldoria project has been in the late january 2008.
As you can see from the very first photoes, we are at the beginning of the construction job with the fundaments of the first buildings settled and some of the wall alredy raised.
